This sinister look dates back to a time when gentlemen went out looking as debonair as they did in day to day life. In the mid 1800's men were put to rest, dressed head to toe in the finest attire, but a taller top hat meant added cost for the coffin, so the shorter "Deadman" top hat style was adopted. This style of top hat allowed men to be buried in a standard size coffin while looking quite dapper.

Add an edgy look to your steampunk style with this dreadfully popular Brimstone deadman top hat from Deadwood Trading. It's understated look is perfect for everyday wear. The tophat's crown is approximately 4" tall and the brim is about 2" wide. It's fabricated from faux leather with a matching faux leather band. The band is accented by a procession of circular metallic studs.
